Short Summary

Human resource executive responsible for the strategic direction and management of human resource activities at Veridiam’s three business units located in San Diego, CA and San Jose, Costa Rica.

Accomplishments
  • Provided leadership, direction and guidance to senior management on human resource strategies, including the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic business plan leading to improved business performance.
  • Guided and managed the human resource services, policies and programs for the entire company. The major areas directed include recruitment and staffing, training and development, policy development and application, performance management and improvement systems, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and organization development.
  • Developed and implemented programs and initiatives to become recognized as an employer of choice. Recognized by San Diego Society for Human Resources Management by winning the Marble and Crystal Workplace Excellence Awards for mid-size companies.
  • Launched Veridiam University in an effort to build the knowledge, skills and abilities of employees. This program resulted in improved productivity, quality, on-time delivery and safety performance.
  • Implemented a variety of programs to improve employee morale and reduce voluntary turnover from 18% to 6%.
  • Managed four workforce reductions by providing HR guidance, communication and direction for all impacted employees resulting in zero claims. Implemented a work share program through the Employment Development Department which eliminated the need to layoff additional workers and ensure the retention of key talent.
  • Conducted due diligence and provided human resources leadership for 3 acquisitions (2 domestic and 1 international) resulting in successful integrations. Implemented a common HR infrastructure at all locations.
  • Managed a staff of 4-6 employees.
